My name is Tracie. I'm a wife, mom of four, and pediatric nurse in Richmond, Va. I've been volunteering with EMP for almost 3 years. I've had the pleasure of traveling to El Salvador twice now for two mission trips. On these trips, we returned to the same locations, patients and families. We not only dealt with acute issues, but also focused on preventing future ones through education and guidance. I am thrilled for EMP's growth to new areas of Central America and new communities where we can meet new families, and establish long term relationships through repeated care and missions. This is what makes EMP so special.
In Guatemala, we have the opportunity to serve up to 600 children in three different areas. I had the priviledge of traveling to these areas in February of 2020 to meet just a few of the families and community leaders. They were gracious, welcoming and enthusiastic to get help to their families and neighbors. Due to the COVID pandemic, we've had to postpone our service there.
Finally, some time has passed and this mission is just around the corner. I am so excited to return and do the work that they've hoped for and the work that we've longed for.
